Smart Dubai is showcasing its latest innovations and projects – as well as those of its affiliates and partners – at its GITEX Technology Week 2017 stand. The Smart Dubai stand – which bears the theme “Future Live” – features 42 different government agencies taking part under the Smart Dubai umbrella and showcasing more than 200 smart government services.

The Smart Dubai pavilion at the event was “meticulously” designed to reflect the organization’s ambitious objective of building the future, explained Her Excellency Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, all in collaboration with its private and public-sector partners.

“Visitors to the pavilion are in for an eye-opening journey that blurs the line between human and technology," Dr Aisha said, "where they will leave with a deeper understanding of the smart technologies of the future, which form the backbone of the Smart Dubai Plan 2021, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council."

Dr Aisha then went on to explain: "We will have a live broadcast where we will not only showcase futuristic technology, but also the human experience resulting from the innovative use of said technology. Our applications and services are tailored to the needs of the people in Dubai, helping us implement the UAE Vision 2021 and make the Emirates the smartest and happiest country in the world."

Several high-profile organisations have pledged to sponsor Smart Dubai’s GITEX participation, namely, Dark Matter as Diamond sponsor; IBM, SAP, ATOS, d3 and DELL EMC as Gold sponsors; and Network International and Exceed as Silver sponsors.

“The importance of cyber-securing digital environments is tantamount to protecting our way of life,” asserted Faisal Al Bannai, Founder and CEO of Dark Matter. “Smart Dubai is a world-leader in its use of technology to protect and enhance the lives of residents and visitors alike, and we are proud of the opportunity to showcase the fundamental role cybersecurity plays in achieving this transformation.”

On a similar note, Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi, Chief Operating Officer at d3, noted: “We are pleased to participate at GITEX this year as a strategic partner to Smart Dubai. We are committed to achieving the 2021 Vision of making Dubai the happiest place on earth and leveraging design-thinking to make a difference for our future.”
