Lebanon's telecom sector crisis is worsening as the quality of Internet services in most regions has deteriorated, coupled with an electricity crisis, the downturn of the central banks and the collapse of the lira exchange rate. Now, the telecommunications sector, which has been a steady source of revenue and profits, is also struggling and faces the absence of favorable solutions as well as heavy annual losses for the Lebanese State and the Ministry of Communications.

In the event that Lebanon does not provide offshore cable Internet to networks, it will face the looming prospect of being completely isolated from the world, which will mean the crippling of business, networks and communication throughout the country.

To further discuss the repercussions of the current dire situation concerning telecom networks, companies and customers, Telecom Review is hosting a virtual panel discussion entitled "The Telecom Sector in Lebanon: From Pioneering to Collapse" on April 19 at 10:30 a.m. Beirut time.

This panel will shed light on the following topics:

  • Challenges faced by the telecom operators
  • Impact of the telecom collapse on the sustainability of businesses and end users
  • Position of Lebanon regarding 5G deployment
  • Sector allocation solutions

Don't miss out on this important panel discussion about the challenges facing the telecom sector in Lebanon.
