In a significant milestone highlighting Saudi Arabia's global leadership in digital regulation, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has selected the Kingdom as a member of its Digital Regulation Network Board, represented by Eng. Omar Alrejraje, Deputy Governor for Regulation and Competition at the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST).

This appointment underscores international confidence in the Kingdom's regulatory capabilities and its role in steering global digital initiatives.

Saudi Arabia's selection follows its impressive ranking as the second among G20 nations and fourth globally in digital regulatory readiness. Additionally, the Kingdom has attained a leadership position (G5) in digital regulatory maturity, as recognized by the ITU.

The Digital Regulation Network Board comprises 13 entities representing regulatory bodies from diverse regions worldwide. Its mandate includes addressing critical challenges, sharing best practices, offering strategic recommendations, and launching initiatives aimed at accelerating digital transformation. These efforts aim to foster an enabling environment for innovation, promote international cooperation in the digital economy, and stimulate investment.

Saudi Arabia, a longstanding member of the ITU Council for nearly six decades, actively contributes to the ITU's objectives through participation in various initiatives, working groups, and committees.

The Kingdom remains committed to enhancing regional and international collaboration in the communications sector, reinforcing solidarity across global digital landscapes.
