A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Ooredoo Qatar and the country’s Ministry of Education for an infrastructure upgrade for the ministry, schools and kindergartens to enhance digital transformation in the field of education in the state of Qatar.
The MoU was signed between Ooredoo Qatar CEO Sheikh Ali Bin Jabor Al Thani and H.E. Dr. Ibrahim Bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in the presence of H.E. the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Ms. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.
The MoU is an extension of the agreement between the Ministry and Ooredoo to support the Ministry's efforts on digital transformation and the upgrading of digital learning opportunities in Qatar’s schools and kindergartens.
In December, Ooredoo Qatar announced a sponsorship initiative to promote accessible opportunities in learning.
In line with its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, one of which is ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education with opportunities for all, the telco leader confirmed its sponsorship of the Qatar Foundation’s education organization, Muallemi.
Muallemi was founded by two students with a belief in equal opportunities for education to ensure students in Qatar could access affordable tutoring to bolster their school or university studies. Muallemi offers personalized virtual 1-on-1 sessions in Mathematics, Science and English.
Ooredoo has maintained a strategic commitment to the UNSDGs, particularly in community, education and health and wellbeing. The company is committed to raising awareness of the importance of gaining a quality education to support the future generation of people that will be running the country.
