After the election of a new president, Lebanon has eventually acquired a new government, restructuring the entire sectors especially the telecommunications sector.

The SEA-ME-WE 5 Consortium recently announced the completion of the 20,000-kilometer subsea cable infrastructure developed by a 16-nation consortium on schedule. UAE telecom provider, du, is a stakeholder in the project which is in-line with the UAE National Vision 2021 and the National Agenda of sustainable environment and infrastructure. The UAE is an emerging business hub in the region and investments from du were instrumental in bringing SEA-ME-WE 5 to the UAE.

Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) announced that its Board of Directors had approved the appointment of Eng. Ahmed Abdulsalam Abdulrahman as Mobily Chief Executive Officer and the acceptance of the resignation of Mr. Ahmad Farroukh. The Chairman and Board of Directors offered their sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr. Ahmad Farroukh for all his efforts in stabilizing the company and wished him the very best of luck and every success in future endeavors.

Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco), announced the resignation of its Chairman and Board Member, Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
