Nokia has announced that its AVA Charging Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution has been chosen by GO p.l.c., Malta’s leading communications provider, to facilitate the expeditious valuation of novel offerings for 5G and IoT applications. The move enhances the commercial partnership between the two entities.

AVA Charging SaaS is software consumed on demand through a subscription that speeds up client uptake and usage by cutting down on the time needed for software installation and configuration; this will replace Nokia's SurePay solution for GO p.l.c., a Nokia 5G RAN partner. The deployment process has begun. In addition to reducing costs, the Nokia SaaS delivery model enables quicker time to market for 5G and IoT services through capabilities that include no-code configuration, TM Forum open APIs, and field-proven network integrations.

Nokia AVA Charging SaaS integrates business intelligence gained from numerous customer engagements, enabling faster commercialization of new CSP (Communications Service Provider) services through automation and configurable charging without the need for coding. It offers CSPs the ability to monetize various consumer services like cloud gaming as well as enterprise services tailored to specific vertical markets such as utilities, logistics, and healthcare.

Kelvin Camenzuli, chief digital officer at GO p.l.c., expressed enthusiasm for integrating Nokia's AVA SaaS-based no-code charging solution, as they are already making successful progress in the 5G domain with Nokia, with nationwide coverage expected by the end of the year. They believe that adopting this solution will transform their charging systems for 5G and accelerate their monetization efforts. Additionally, it will enable them to deliver innovative products and services more rapidly, thereby bringing greater value to their customers.
