The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has revealed a number of initiatives and projects implemented by Eve Committee since the beginning of 2017, covering various fields including culture, sports, entertainment, family, society, charity, as well as initiatives aiming at enhancing happiness, positivity and gender balance. The total number of initiatives implemented by the Committee during 2017 reached 30 initiatives, with many still ongoing and to be completed by the end of the year.
The initiatives included participation in the UAE National Sports Day, Ideal Emirati Woman, Mother's Day, your happiness with colors, International Girl in ICT Day, Eve Ramadan Competition, 'Farhathom' initiative through which assistance has been distributed to families in need, 'Abayati' through which gowns have been distributed to women of families in need, and Eid Al Fitr activities. The Committee also organized initiatives for the ladies on first aid, cooking and etiquette, in addition to allocating time for talented female employees in various fields such as writing, music, and others.
Praising the Committee's activities, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, said: "Women receive special attention from the decision-makers in the UAE, due to their important role at economic and social levels. Emirati women have been able to prove their efficiency and competence in various fields of work, enabling them to reach the highest leadership positions at the national and international levels, which is a source of pride for all of us."
In turn, Ahlam Abdulrahman Al Feel, Corporate Communication Department Director, and Head of Eve Committee, said: "The idea of establishing the committee was based on the directives of the high leadership of TRA, in the believe of the role of women and their contribution to the development of work in all fields, to motivate female human resources to continue in professional excellence, create a productive and encouraging work environment for creativity and innovation, ensure the highest level of happiness for female employees, and to open the floor for discussing and reviewing issues of concern to women.
"Moreover, we have formed a group of teams to implement many initiatives and workshops that serve the empowerment and development of women professionally and socially. We would like indicate that there is leadership for this committee and decisions are made through consultation. During the remainder of this year, we look forward to empowering women in TRA, and supporting them to reach leadership positions and contribute more to the decision-making process."
Eve Committee prepares a documented and clear methodology that defines the vision, mission, objectives and framework of the committee, and circulate them to TRA employees, as well as spreading awareness on the committee's scope and objectives, organizing awareness-raising courses, seminars, and courses on various fields related to women's work, organizing and preparing programs to activate participation in celebrations and events related to women, and establishing quick channels of communications with national and international organizations and associations to exchange information and experiences.
