Qualcomm reported revenues of $5.4 billion for the three months to 25 June in 2017 and highlighted better than expected results in its semiconductor business. The Executive Council of Dubai and Huawei Consumer Business Group announced a partnership that will see it include Dubai Font on its mobile operating systems as one of its standard pre-loaded fonts. Statistics announced by Smart Dubai revealed that its DubaiPay portal for payment online and via smartphones registered a 15 percent increase in the amounts collected between June 1st 2016 and June 1st, 2017, and a surge of 13 percent in number of transactions carried out over the same period.

Ericsson is set to reduce more staff following the disclosure of its financial results for Q2 in 2017. The company has confirmed it will axe staff, although it didn't speculate how many jobs were at risk, in addition to this it will also reduce its real estate footprint as part of its efforts to make $1.2 billion in cuts.
