The Qatar Amateur Radio Association participated in World Amateur Radio Day, celebrated each year on April 18.

The International Telecommunication Union organized a special celebration for this occasion. It included a video conference for a number of wireless amateur associations from different countries, followed by a call to four stations via the special transmitter for wireless amateur broadcasting, the Qatari satellite Es'hailSat 2.

Board of Directors Vice Chairman, Dr. Ahmed Hamad Al-Muhannadi, participated on behalf of the Qatar Amateur Radio Association.

In light of this celebration, the International Federation of Amateur Radio decided to hold a special live event with its members for a period of two weeks, from April 11–25. Stations from around the world, including one belonging to the Qatar Amateur Radio Association, are running special events with bilateral radio communications.

The International Federation of Radio Amateurs, a federation of more than 150 wireless amateur associations, announced for the first time that the theme "Human Security for All" would be the focus of the World Amateur Radio Day celebrations.
