The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) officially presented the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) license to Salam Mobile (Integrated Mobile Telecom Co. Ltd.) during the LEAP tech conference in Riyadh. The license was presented by the CITC deputy governor for regulation and competition Eng. Omar AL Rejraje in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Saud Al Tamimi, CITC governor, to Eng. Abdul Mohsin bin Abdullah Al Joyan, CEO of Salam Mobile.

Addressing the keynote stage at the LEAP 2022 event, HE Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, the minister of communications and information technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), shared the aspirations and notable technological developments behind the nation’s leap towards innovation.

The RIPE Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) hosted a series of webinars in collaboration with the Communications Regulatory Authority in Qatar (CRA), Liban Telecom (OGERO), Professional Computer Association (PCA) in Lebanon and the Arab ISP and Telecom Association (ARISPA). The webinars were conducted with industry experts who underlined the vital role of the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) security and Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) in enhancing network security and strengthening the Internet landscape in Lebanon and Qatar.
