Ralf Pichler (47) was named the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Detecon International, one of Germany’s leading management and technology consulting companies. The Deutsche Telekom Group’s own corporate consultancy and subsidiary of T-Systems supports national and international customers of all industries in their digital transformation. As CEO, Pichler aims at accelerating Detecon's growth course in group-external business and also further expanding Detecon’s role as T-Systems’ consulting pillar for digital business.

“I am very pleased that Ralf Pichler will assume the leadership position of Detecon. He is an experienced strategic consultant with a proven track record,” says T-Systems chief Adel Al-Saleh. Christian Till Roga, Chairman of Detecon’s Supervisory Board emphasizes, “Ralf ideally combines expertise in three core areas that are substantially important for Detecon: Strong expertise in consulting for digital transformation, an outstanding background in the telecommunications industry, and broad experience in international markets.”

Most recently, Ralf Pichler was a partner and associate director at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Prior to that, he spent eight years with Ericsson in various international executive management roles with positions in Germany, Sweden, Turkey and Iran, including president and CEO Ericsson Turkey & Iran, as well as global head of strategy and portfolio of Ericsson's Global Services business. In the preceding twelve years, Pichler has held various top positions at well-known companies such as IBM Global Services, PwC Consulting and Capgemini Consulting. In his various roles, he managed numerous strategy initiatives focusing on digital transformation, 5G and growth initiatives as well as cost reduction and efficiency programs.

With a view to the future, Ralf Pichler's concern will be to further accelerate the growth course that Detecon has already set in group-external business. Detecon has raised its profile on the external market and meanwhile acts as an important player for digitalization consultation in German-speaking countries.

“I am very pleased at the trust people have placed in me. It makes me proud to lead a consulting company like Detecon, which was recently ranked among the top 3 of the largest German management consulting companies in the Lünendonk List. With “Beyond Consulting”, Detecon is pursuing a leading consulting approach and has recognized expertise in future-oriented topics such as 5G and (industrial) Internet of Things. This is the perfect match for me,” says Pichler.

With “Beyond Consulting,” Detecon is significantly enhancing classic consulting methods and adjusting these to future digitalization requirements. Thus, top-tier consulting should cover the whole spectrum from innovation to implementation as well as technology expertise and a high degree of agility, for example, for the flexible but tailor-made networking of experts for digital ecosystems.

In this sense, Detecon also forms the consulting pillar of the “Digital Solutions” Portfolio Unit, a merger of Detecon with T-Systems Multimedia Solutions and T-Systems Global Systems Integration. T-Systems Digital Solutions is evolving into the leading digitalization provider in Europe, with around 4800 digital experts and an integrated end-to-end approach with consulting, co-innovation, and integration solutions.

"Detecon is an important element of our digitalization strategy. With Ralf Pichler, we have the ideal prerequisites to continue on our successful path of a joint end-to-end digitalization offering. From a single source, we offer the best basis for being the preferred transformation partner for our customers’ digitalization,” says Peter Lorenz, Head of T-Systems Portfolio Unit “Digital Solutions”.
