The advantages of 5G networks are quite obvious by now. 5G not only provides faster connectivity speeds to the end consumer, lower latency and a greater number of possible connections, but also empowers all industries and enables economic growth. Connected societies clearly stand to benefit significantly from the rollout of 5G. It is also why network security is brought more under the spotlight and becomes such a priority in the 5G era.
A new agreement has been signed by Etihad Etisalat Co. “Mobily” and Nokia, covering the provision of next-generation telecom technologies.

As we stand at the beginning of a new decade, we can say that we are now well and truly in an intelligent era, increasingly powered by 5G connectivity. The fully connected, intelligent world is no longer an abstract idea—it is becoming today’s reality. Together, we are transforming industries and improving human lives.
Nine OECD countries – up from six a year ago – now have high-speed fibre making up 50% or more of their fixed Internet connections, according to an update to the OECD’s broadband portal.
One of the world’s largest roaming carriers, BICS, faced a huge outage on its signaling network that lasted only a couple of hours. The issue has been resolved, with traffic fully restored on all BICS’ service platforms.
Ramping up its global technology ecosystem, Huawei’s Enterprise Business Group (BG) recently announced a new partner development strategy named "Profitability, Simplicity, Enablement, and Ecosystem” under which it will cooperate with global partners in supporting digital transformation programs. The start of 2020 has seen an unprecedented spotlight shown on cybersecurity and data privacy. This has been embodied most recently by the rollout of 5G telecom networks around the world and the use of Huawei technologies to support those networks.
