Expo 2020 Dubai featured 192 countries on the ground and showcased culture and innovation at the best, successfully becoming the first major commercial customer in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region to access 5G services and achieving the feat of being the world’s fastest event.

Now is the time to reimagine and demystify the world of space and satellites as the global satellite industry is expected to be worth over $500 billion in 2024. Its place in the connectivity ecosystem is now imperative and making it part of the solution is a compelling reality.

Stressing on the need for high-quality networks for accelerating the commercial deployment of 5G, Cullen Xu, vice president of Huawei 5G & LTE TDD product Line, stated, “As 5G commercial deployment enters a new stage, users' requirements for experience and services continue to increase, the trend of 5G high-quality network construction is significant to operators.”

According to IFC data, between 2019 and 2030, the number of telecom sites in six assessed regions – Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Latin America (LAC), South Asia (SA), East Asia and the Pacific (EAP), and Europe & Central Asia (ECA) – is expected to increase from around 4 to 5.4 million, growing at roughly 2.7% per year.
