SES, the leader in global content connectivity solutions and smart network company Marlink, have signed a multi-year, multi-million-euro deal, which will enable Marlink’s customers to access SES’s next-generation medium earth orbit constellation (MEO) – O3b mPOWER, the two long-term partners have announced.

OneWeb, the low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications company, confirmed its successful deployment of 36 satellites by Arianespace from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. This latest launch, the Company’s twelfth overall and ninth since December 2020, brings OneWeb’s total in-orbit constellation to 394 satellites. This represents over 60 percent of OneWeb’s planned 648 LEO satellite fleet that will deliver high-speed, low-latency global connectivity.

SES, Honeywell, and Hughes have successfully demonstrated multi-network, multi-orbit high-speed airborne connectivity for military customers that will enable government and military personnel to communicate between the ground and air more efficiently and securely.

Residents of two remote Kazakhstan villages (Akterek and Beriktas) can now benefit from unprecedented internet speeds via satellite-enabled Wi-Fi, through a network set up for 30 days by SES in cooperation with the Republican center for space communications (RCSC) and AsiaNetCom, a Kazakhstan-based connectivity provider.

Intelsat, operator of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial network, and Thales Alenia Space have signed an agreement to build two software-defined satellites designed to advance Intelsat’s global fabric of software-defined GEO connectivity as part of its 5G software-defined network.

Viasat has entered into a definitive agreement under which Viasat will acquire Inmarsat in a transaction valued at $7.3 billion, comprised of $850.0 million in cash, approximately 46.36 million shares of Viasat common stock valued at $3.1 billion based on the closing price on Friday November 5, 2021, and the assumption of $3.4 billion of net debt.
