VIVA Kuwait, a subsidiary of Saudi Telecom Company (STC), published its third quarter earnings for 2017 showing a financial slump compared to the same period last year. VIVA reported net profits of KD 28.3 million (approx. US$ 93.5 million) during the nine month period ended 30 September 2017 compared to net profit of KD 29 million (approx. US$ 95.8 million) during the same period in 2016.

Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC, the parent company of "du" and "Virgin Mobile UAE", published its financial results for the quarter ended 30 September 2017, showing a 4 percent growth in net profit after royalty to AED 476 million.

Etisalat and RAKBANK, also known as The National Bank of Ras Al Khaimah, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Managed Point of Sale services. As part of the strategic partnership, Etisalat shall provide RAKBANK with last-mile Point of Sale (PoS) operations as its outsourced and managed service partner, a first-of-its-kind approach in the UAE payments and banking industry.
