Huawei, a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, has announced that the fourth Huawei Middle East Innovation Day will be held during GITEX Technology Week 2019, on October 7.

The event will see ICT experts from government, telecom and enterprise sectors gather to discuss key industry topics – including Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G, ecosystem development, and more.

The event will include three bespoke sessions: a 5G Ecosystem Conference under the title “5G, Gear Up”; an AI Conference under the theme “Advance Intelligence”, and a “Huawei Developer Day Dubai 2019” session, which is focused on building a better ecosystem for Huawei’s local partners and developers.

Innovation Day comes at a time when both the public and private sectors are making critical investments in ICT infrastructure. Digital innovation is now at the forefront of many national development plans in the Middle East, and is seen as a crucial ingredient to diversifying local economies, creating future jobs, while accelerating sustainable development.

Globally, 5G is gaining strong momentum in its commercial adoption. 5G networks are bringing virtual reality, augmented realty, and other ultra-HD video services to Mobile Video 3.0, and this premium experience is compelling users to change their behavior patterns. Meanwhile, industries are starting to embrace 5G and 5G is starting to explode into prominence by promoting a comprehensive digital transformation and improving efficiency in many industries.

AI in particular has the potential to make a significant impact globally. According to PwC and McKinsey, by 2030, AI could contribute nearly $16 trillion to the global economy – by which time it is predicted that a significant majority of companies will have adopted AI technology. It is estimated that the UAE’s economy will comprise 14% contribution from AI by 2030, which will be the largest GDP share in the Middle East.

As for building a better ecosystem around smart phones together with partners and developers, Huawei Mobile Services will share the newest ecological construction strategy and will showcase common vision of the future, including optimized app/gaming experience, top quality content discovery, AI-powered tools, and much more. Huawei Developer Day Dubai 2019 ultimately aims to help build the bridge between the best content and global users.

Charles Yang, President of Huawei Middle East, said, “Huawei Innovation Day is an opportunity for representatives from across the ICT sector to come together and discuss the future of the industry. High-level discussion is essential in the development of solutions and ecosystems that support the continued progression of our societies as we build a fully connected, intelligent world. AI will have a pivotal role to play in the years to come. Huawei will continue to sharpen the competitive edge of its products and solutions by leveraging the power of AI to deliver tangible impacts for clients.”

Visitors to GITEX Technology Week can explore Huawei’s latest solutions and global case studies at its exhibition stand located at Stand Z2-A10 in Za’abeel Hall 2 under the theme ‘Building a Fully Connected, Intelligent World’. Huawei’s participation at GITEX 2019 is supported by some of its key partners including GAPP and Redington as Diamond sponsors; Enterprise Systems and Octalpha as Gold sponsors.

Huawei Middle East Innovation Day 2019 will be held at the Al Multaqua Hall in DWTC on October 7.
