As part of an important policy goal under the Kingdom's Vision 2030 agenda, the Saudi Telecom Company (stc) and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), represented by the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) have signed a strategic partnership agreement to develop and improve the Kingdom’s data capabilities.

The arrangement seeks to explore and develop artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for the healthcare, smart cities and infrastructure sector.

The accord was signed in the presence of SDAIA vice president Saleh Bin Mohammed Al-Othaim and STC Group CEO Eng. Nasser AlNasser, and the supervisor of the NCAI at SDAIA, Dr. Majed Al-Tuwaijri.

The agreement also aims to study the establishment of AI infrastructure, empower AI experts in the field of business, expand and implement technological solutions, provide joint services with government entities, and discuss the development of investment opportunities.

Last year, Saudi Arabia announced it was investing $20 billion in AI projects by 2030, launching a national strategy to attract investors in the field.

Arcadis, a leading global design and consultancy for natural and built assets, has added regional heavyweights, UAE and Saudi Arabia, to the list of top 50 markets across six continents for companies to build data centres in the world.
