Etihad Etisalat, or “Mobily,” has announced a raft of new deals during LEAP 2023, covering a range of areas such as customer experience, gaming, cloud solutions, online marketplaces, CSR, cybersecurity and infrastructure, among others.

Tencent Cloud

Mobily and Tencent Cloud, the cloud business of global technology company Tencent, have signed an MoU for a strategic collaboration that will pave the way to launch next-generation cloud solutions and services in KSA.

According to the MoU, Mobily will lead and manage the data center hosting, network links and ICT infrastructure, while Tencent Cloud will provide cloud solutions and services, from IaaS products such as cloud virtual machine (CVM), storage and network solutions to PaaS products such as database and media solutions.

Omar Alrasheed, chief corporate strategy & digitalization officer of Mobily, said, “There is a new industry reality that is partnering with hyperscalers has become a strategic imperative for both parties. The question is not anymore whether we will partner or not. It is about which business model and how to start the collaboration. Mobily is confident that our collaboration with Tencent Cloud will add value to KSA’s digital transformation.”

Sure Pay

Mobily Pay has confirmed an agreement with Sure Pay to develop a payment acquiring system for its app. The deal will enable Mobily Pay to become a merchant wallet for their point-of-sale users while supporting strong B2B solutions. The aim is to increase the number of transactions conducted on the app and open up new opportunities for the application.

D11 Gaming

Mobily Gamers has established a partnership with D11 Gaming to create Mobily Gamers’ gaming and esports platform. Under the revenue sharing agreement, D11 will become a gaming hub partner that will provide and manage a customized gaming ecosystem solution for multi-platform gaming, which includes casual, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), the cloud, esports and all related aspects based on the contract.

Thamer Abdulkareem Albutairi, general manager of digital services at Mobily, said: “We are proud to announce our partnership with D11 Gaming. The field of gaming and esports is rapidly growing and evolving, and we at Mobily have taken the initiative to cater to this segment by collaborating with D11 Gaming to create Mobily Gamers.”

SDAIA

Mobily Pay and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) will work together to provide a donation option so that users are able to donate through the app. The project will focus on enabling the payment gateway to be controlled by Ehsan, resulting in an increased number of transactions and fund movement, as well as supporting Mobily Pay CSR activities. This will be a part of the Mobily Pay strategy to enable a full package of digital products and services to meet customer needs and to contribute to the 2030 vision to achieve financial sector development program objectives.

Bitaqaty

Mobily Pay signed a new partnership with Bitaqaty, which will enable Mobily Pay to offer e-vouchers for strong brands. The partnership will be part of Mobily Pay’s expansion plan, as it will pave the way toward launching new products and services and help Mobily Pay meet customers' expectations and enhance their experiences.

Dawiyat

As the potential of the digital world continues to evolve, Mobily is cooperating with Dawiyat to further develop Mobily’s digital infrastructure and provide IoT to its customers. The MoU will provide Mobily with advanced technical services and contribute to the provision of digital solutions for its communications infrastructure with high reliability and high speed, in addition to developing data centers and enhancing the experience of its customers.

Abyan

The agreement signed between Abyan Capital, a robo-advisor and investment platform in Saudi Arabia, and Mobily Pay will focus on Robo-Investments, complete with new apportions for Mobily Pay users that will enable them to invest monthly through Abyan. Abyan will then facilitate the investment from that point. The agreement seeks to enable Mobily to become the first in the market to provide this service, with a keen eye on customers. The deal will drive user acquisition, offer new products, and increase customer satisfaction overall.
